Why see Ray LaMontagne?

Ray LaMontagne and Gregory Alan Isakov

Ray LaMontagne joins forces with Grammy-nominated Gregory Alan Isakov on a brand new co-headlining tour, with The Secret Sisters as support! 'Trouble', Ray LaMontagne's acclaimed 2004 debut, quietly sold over 250,000 copies, the grassroots result of listeners worldwide hearing the New Hampshire-born singer and songwriter and spreading the word. Heading on tour this fall, don't miss your chance to see them both live!

After leaving high school, he went on to work in a shoe factory in Maine, before being inspired to write music by listening to a record by Stephen Stills, Manassas. His rootsy, bluegrass style has been likened to Otis Redding and Van Morrison, among others, with a gravelly, but velvety folk voice that dances expertly around earthy songs.

Really great!

Went to the show at the Fair Park Music Hall. Venue is top notch and the sound was some of the best I've ever heard. Ray's voice was identical to what his records sound like, which is a high compliment. So many artists are so digitally altered it's almost shocking to hear something so pure and unadulterated. There was only Ray and another musician on stage, which gave the night a very sparse, ethereal air. It was unexpected but very enjoyable. My only minor quibble was that I would have liked to have seen some songs with a full band. Other than that, for my first time seeing him, I was impressed and look forward to seeing him again. Great show! ... Read more
