Robert Earl Keen

Robert Earl Keen at House of Blues

Why see Robert Earl Keen?

Lights, Camera, Christmas!

The road goes on forever for The King of Americana, who's released 12 studio albums, plays 180 live performances a year and has been inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame! The same path leads him on a brand-new Christmas tour to spread cheer and wish everyone a 'Merry Christmas From the Family'!

With a mission to encourage sing-alongs to all of Santa's favorite songs - with a twist - the Lone Star State storyteller is here to remind audiences of that cozy feeling of sitting around the fire, watching Christmas movies and making memories with family. His festive concert will be filled with traditional holiday anecdotes, sleigh bells, Santa Claus and Jingle Bells. But he'll also mix in non-traditional songs to celebrate the sacredness of family during the season.

About Robert Earl Keen

Texan born-and-bred Keen was one of the large contingents of talented songwriters who emerged in Texas in the 1980s and '90s, and struck an unusual balance between sensitive story-portraits ("Corpus Christi Bay") and raucous barroom style ("That Buckin' Song"). In Keen's early output, these two song types were characterized by a sarcastic and ironic sense of humor that strongly influenced other early practitioners of alternative country music.

Keen's 1993 release, A Bigger Piece Of Sky, gained wider acclaim, both amongst fans and critics. Over the next two decades, Keen would continue to write, record, perform and tour. Today, Keen is popular with traditional country music fans, folk music fans, the college radio crowd and alt-country fans.
